Cut them and re-solder. that's what I did. Disconnect the battery first to be on the safe side.

2001 VTR 1.6 Lowered 35mm all round, K&N Induction kit. Full bodykit and lots more.

right, the wires are soldered, new interior from johnny, so pretensioners have been replaced, and still the light is on, i dont know if the airbags have gone off in the past, there doesnt seem to be any signs of accident damage. maybe the ecu needs resetting????. one other thing when i replaced the interior i noticed that the seats where already soldered, with a date certificate . 2001 maybe by citroen cos the car was not registered till 2002. >:(

after a little trip to my mechanic to sort another fault, he checked the air bag aswell, 2 fault codes came up.
02. drivers airbag squib 2nd stage
08. right side airbag squib
does any body knows what exactly what that means?????

it would be easier as a native speaker. but my dictionary says - squib      can be something like the air bag "starter"      it's something like what the pretensioner has inside.

Its the explosive device that inflates the airbag. Driver's one became a 2-stage inflation a while back. Was it with the introduction of the Phase II? Anyway, for some reason, its reporting them faulty.

Ooh - a conspiracy theorist ... goodee :D Get thee to abovetopsecret.com   You'll love it there.

I bet if nigh on 50 tons of aircraft at 500mph hit you, you'd have squibs too!

phil, what do you think the cure will be then? air bag reset, or  a replacement ecu? my mechanic tryed to reset, the light went out but soon came back on with the same codes

I can't imagine for a minute its the ECU. Can you corner the foreman of your local Dealer and bend his ear? Some of them can be very obliging. Don't hurt to ask if he's heard of this or something similar before.
