Col VTS:
does anyone have any experience of limited mileage policies ?

I'm going to be inheriting my Dad's E39 BMW 528i in a few months time, and am looking
in to the thorny issue of insurance ::)

The sod's a group 16 too, just like the VTS

roughly how much cheaper is it than a regular policy in percentage terms ?

Thanks ;D

Spencer:
it all differs depending on personal circumstances, where you live etc.

easiest way to find out Col - just play with confused.com and see what the difference is when you ammend the policy for different amounts of miles.

xsarastan:
try classic car insurance places mate, limited milage and "laid up" cover normally really cheap  ;)

Col VTS:
ok thanks Guys, I'll give some of your suggestions a go ;D

I should sell it really, but it's a right pimp mobile :D

wall to wall leather and all the toys 8)

Johnny:
If you do a limited milage policy get more miles than you need, if you get less and need a top up it costs a small fortune.

I did a limited mile policy on my bike but then went touring abroad, the quote for extra miles was a joke, fortunately my speedo (and odometer) stopped working the week before I went. The fault turned out to be something I had accidentally loosened before I went.
