Xsara MOT
« on: May 09, 2012, 04:58:32 pm »
Hi All,

Just realised that my MOT ran out nearly a month ago so thought I'd better check it over and get it booked in asap. Turned out I needed a pair of handbrake cables, a new no. plate bulb and both back tyres. Nipped down to the nearest motor factors and bought what I needed, Tyre shop was over the road so got them done there. I then spent an hour replacing the cables etc then whipped it round for test. Passed with flying colours, not even an advisory note.

All in all it cost me £158, bargain!

High five brother!

My sister went three months without even realising. Dread to think what would have happened if she'd had a bump...

Aye its easy forgot. My Dad's Octavia went 11 months with no MOT (well it was never MOT'd full stop in its life/his ownership..). 11 months/25k, going past police cars and ANPR cameras and never got done. Jammy get.

And then my Mum's car was 4 months without one. Luck would have to have it I got stopped driving it (left the pub at 2am... fair play stopping us) and they ran checks once I passed the breathaliser. They told me MOT was out and were leniant and never fined me- probably only cos there was a rucus starting outside the pub!
5 years.. 8 cars (2 of which were Xsara's). And now gayyin it up with a Clio!
