Hello all! I have a Xsara 110 HDi (2002) and recently the auxiliary belt went. No real issue I thought and have proceeded to change it.
Now the query I have is that once finished, I ran the vehicle to ensure that all was well and noticed the dynamic tensioner roller bobbing backwards and forwards and that the lower portion of the belt was oscillating up and down slightly between the crankshaft pulley and the air-conditioning compressor. I checked that I could do the old 1/2 twist on the belt etc and everything looks and feels good. So really my query is that what I am seeing is what should be happening and that the dynamic tensioner roller bobbles backwards and forwards intentionally to absorb movement within the system. is that correct?
Many thanks for your time and your help.
