Your heater plugs probably did flash on just for a moment, but it's easily missed. As you say, just take it a little slower - more haste, less speed.  ;D

Thanks.

I had a look at my stiff accelerator pedal last night and I greased the cable and pedal pivot. I then discovered it was fly by wire. I think the 'pot' in the engine bay is a little stiff in operation. Anyone experienced this before?

As it's al can bus, is there an easy way to add cruise control to this engine?

I believe it can - ask Tibi - he knows, as that one's cropped up before. On some models you can fit the stalk then activate with Lexia.

depends on the phase! if it's a ph.2 without the COM2000 then it'll be a hard task, but if it's a ph.2.5 with a COM2000 stalk then it's a doddle! ;)

I think it's a PH2.5. It's one of the last Xsara's made in '04 afterall.

Do I need the stalk and actuator or just stalk?

which type of stalk do you have from these two below:

1.early type  (ph.1, ph. 1.5, ph.2)

2.later type COM2000 unit (ph. 2.5)

Comm2000. It also has a stalk for the radio controls on the right.
Ph2.5

then it's easy! just buy the cruise control stalk, push it into it's place and find someone with a Lexia near you and do the necessary settings/codings (dead easy)

Cool  O0

I think the bottom section of the steering column cowl will need modding or changing though as I can't see a slot for it.

I've seen some stalks for about ?35 delivered. Is this the going rate?  ???

Update on the fuel consupmtion - I managed 511 miles on a tankful and could only squeeze in 45 litres to brim it back up. If I was really brave I think I could get 600 out of a tank barring any hills of course! I make that about 51 mpg's, which is ever so slightly less than previous but then again, my driving hasn't been as gentle and a bit more town/short trip stuff. I must be brave and try a 'drive it normal' tank fulll to see what happens...
