Doesn't sound bad at all, in all truth.
Given the moaning noises I witness on here on a regular basis, a large percentage of people really don't have a clue as to motoring costs. Just because a car was bought for peanuts, doesn't automatically cut the price of, say, a replacement exhaust, in half.
Typical response I come across is "Is that all it's worth? But I just spent £X hundred in the last 9 months on it". Makes not an iota of difference of course, as keeping the thing up to scratch is a given - even so, it will still devalue. And as we all know, bolting almost any extra on board will add almost precisely zilch to the value, and may even reduce it.
Running any car will cost bundles, whatever it is. I reckon overall, Xsaras are pretty much at the cheaper end - no doubt Alfas are a bit higher, but nothing like they were 10 years or so ago.
