DeltaOscar's 1.4 LX 2001 Xsara

DeltaOscar:
Hi everyone,

With the help i've received with a few areas with my car, i've decided to post it up in the journal to show how its got on.

My mum and dad got me the car in January as an early 19th birthday present. I was a bit nervous at first, as since passing my test in November 2010 I drove my late Nan's automatic Austin Mini 1.0L (I used to find my mate's '97 Fiesta 'spacious'!).

It took a bit of getting used to the size of the car let alone manual transmission!

BUT, i've been driving it for about 4 months and love it!

One of the first things I did was upgrade the audio. I installed a Sony DSX-S100 head unit (I wanted ipod connectivity without the wires lol), along with Alpine E types running off the head unit. I then installed a new pair of Soundstream SF693Ts 6x9s I had lying around and hooked these up to a JVC KS-AX3102 amp. I had originally planned to put in a sub, as young lads do, but since putting the 6x9s in I haven't felt the need for one, they sound awesome as they are. The enclosure of the boot makes the 6x9s sound like I have one in and all my mates are impressed by the bass they put out! I had a fair bit of help from you guys with ther installation, but was determined to do it myself and not pay out to install it. ;)

Since I got the car, it was missing the top chevron and had been on the lookout for a new grille for it and only in the last week I was able to get hold of one off a fellow member here on CXOC, which I actually installed today! It was the missing piece of my Xsara but now that i've managed to fix her up i've got a few more mods planned down the line, such as adding alloys, installing a pair of racing recliners (i've been reading good things about Raceland Alcantaras - no way can I afford/justify purchasing top brand seats :( ), possibly a low tailgate spoiler but of course not forgetting adding CXOC stickers.

I plan to spend a maximum of around ?1000 on her, ?250 of which went to the audio system -no complaints there ;D but it does mean working nutty overtime in the summer lol.

Theres a couple of small knocks (size of a 20 pence piece) and she needs a very minor bit of touching up paint-wise. During the summer I plan to do some light maintenance work on her; cleaning the engine bay and flushing the fluids - after 4 owners and 57000 miles, god knows what treatment shes been under.

Anyway, I thought i'd share my story for now and hopefully keep you guys updated on things. Please do check out the photos and feel free to let me know what you think!  O0
