Sorry, I meant the club.  ;D

Hadn't spotted linky for the spoiler. That's so subtle you can't even see it, and it's for the 4-door anyway. Thanks for the thought tho'.

I wasn't about to wait that long - that damn clock is still ticking. :(

Don't think I'd want the 3L, honestly. OK for a quick play perhaps, but for what I want a car for, waaaay OTT. No, this suits me fine at present, and as mentioned last week, there's always the possibilty of a tuning box. There's one being pushed by Speedhawk here at present, then there's the Kuberl.

you'll laugh... I sell Speedhawk too  ;D     (well... used to... as there were some problems with them)

From their write-up, it seems they've sorted something out with an older box, so perhaps it's safe to try the new one.

Not just at present, but you could find out some prices when you've got a few minutes.  :coolsmiley:

Right found it. From BHP Plus, the dealers over here I've found, response to a question on Nov 26, 2009.

"Hi John, thank you for your comment. Despite this article, we do not disagree with ECU remaps. We know they have their place in the market. However it is not correct to say that an ECU remap will provide bigger gains than a tuning box. A good ECU remap may provide better gains over a poor tuning box (of which there are many) but the way out boxes work means they will generally give similar results to a remap.
In terms of DPF, that is probably where our tuning boxes have an advantage over a remap. Again, poor tuning boxes can cause problems with DPF?s (as our old boxes did over a year ago). However the Speedhawk system has smart technology to prevent DPF issues and they work seamlessly with them.
There is a lot of bad press about tuning boxes generated by ECU remap companies and customers of poor performing and cheap tuning boxes. But a good tuning box like the Speedhawk box will do as good or better job than a remap."

Does that tally with your findings?

Decided to extract digit, and give the Beastie a good clean. It had been valeted before collection, or so they say, but I thought I'd like to get it done properly

Wheels first, as they were the worst part - found some Decosol stuff in the garage and it worked pretty well - something like Formic acid, by the smell of it. 2 or 3 buckets of soapy and a big spudge and what little muck that had been left on the body was gone.

Quick blast to Hemel Hempstead and back - well there's no other reason to go there - and she's dry enough for a coat of Autoglym's Super Resin, then because I never know when to quit, - a coat of their Extra Gloss.

Result? One Nackered Ninja anda passably presentable wagon. What you think?

There are a few flaws present. The worst is a shallow keying across the boot - ~ 9" long. Been touched in pretty well, but I might let a pro look at it at some point.

Couple of small nicks just behind the nearside headlight in the bumper edge and some scuffs on the glass to the offside. Minor scuff also to the nearside door mirror, but hardly surprising given the size of them. Considering the mileage, I'd say it's overall not in bad nick.

Phil, if you would like to make things easier like I do (my VTS hasn't been washed for 1.5 months now and still looks shiny as fook!)

after SRP give it a layer of wax. Doesn't really matter which one... AG HD Wax for example...

Extra Gloss is only sealant whic I would put over the wax.

If you once do it properly (clay, SRP, wax, extra gloss) dust/dirt/bird droppings/insects won't stick to paint, and it would be a lot easier to wash, and the car would look clean without rubbing it every week...
