Just spoke to Trevor King down in Epsom re autobox.
He didn't believe that the Dealer couldn't read any faults from the gearbox ECU. Furthermore, expressed the opinion that an oil change wouldn't have made any difference anyway.
Won't report what he said about Dealers wanting to replace hydraulic pack and the fees they charge. He's going to check what spares he has for that box and what might be needed, then call me back.
Don't know if he'll be able to read and fix on the spot or whether I'll need to leave it. May possibly be able to run it down there and leave whilst I'm on hols for a week. I'd prefer not to go heaving right across Lunnun twice if I don't need to. At least his garage is only 200 yards from the station, and it's only 1 change on the choo-choo to Charing Cross.

Funnily enough, it seems to be settling itself more recently - hasn't hiccuped at all since I phoned up the specialist. Makes me feel a bit of a numpty.
