Ninja News Update.
The Wrinkly Ninja:
Right, well I?d promised to inflict at least the start of the story of the new Wrinkly Wagon, so here goes.
Comfort has always been something of a watchword for me, thro? all the years of Citroen ownership ? I suppose I was spoiled from early on. Starting with an old GS, then thro? GSA, a BX16 TRS, two BX19 GTis, the second one an auto, a ZX 1.8 Auto and lastly, the Xsara 1.6 16V Autos, the first of which I managed to destroy. The only new one, and arguably the worst, was the GSA, which rusted before my eyes ? this was just before the days of Citroen?s excellent modern galvanising.
The ZX was the first with ?normal? suspension, but being a bit soft, was still acceptable. Both Xsaras suffered a, by Marque standards, poor ride, the first one being noticeably better. I had recently tried to improve the comfort factor by fitting SX level seating, and while this was at least partially successful, did not really answer the problem.
I had thought of the C4, and while this is quite fun, again does not have ?proper? Citroen suspension. I?d been looking for a while when up popped a C5 on Cargiant, so I thought I?d go for a look. The rest is now (recent) history. It wasn?t a smooth transition as Cargiant were less than helpful regarding swapping cherished numbers, which delayed matters rather more than somewhat.
But at long last, here we are the new(ish) Wrinkly Wagon ? A C5 2.0 HDi 16V , 2007 vintage, ex-repmobile , with 72K on the clock. Bit of a touched-in scratch on the boot, but with that big arse, who?s noticing? Generally pretty clean, with a small tear in the Alcantara on the rear seat.
It?s already had a 72K service and I?m awaiting a call to price up a cambelt change, albeit a bit early. But enough gab, ??? see for yourselves.
And yes, the big arse too?
Inside, pretty standard, but comfy, especially now the rep?s mobile phone mast is gone.
Boot big enough for at least a couple of chav corpses (well, they shrink after a while ;) ),
? and finally, the bit you?ve all been waiting for ? the powerhouse.
So, enjoy, Boys and Girls. (Ooo, I do Doctor, I do. :2funny: )
Jookeli:
We have a c5 too, the ride is totally rubbish with the h3+ suspension..
Richie1985:
Is that the same leather steering wheel as the PH2 VTS?
The Wrinkly Ninja:
Looks like it (I'll have to check that)- and it needs something doing to it. Either a retrim or a newer one.
Yell tells me there's a guy only a mile away, tho' frankly, I don't believe it. We'll see.
Edit: Looks the same, but isn't. Used on C5 I & II.
nath:
nice mate - think we'll be heading that way soon but i want the new shape one - no doubt get my pants pulled down on HP - unless i can get the NHS to start dolling out company cars...
