all you need to do m8 is earth the wires an then for power put it on the remote wire that you run from your sub to ya head unit an it will switch it on an off every time stereo is switched on an off very easy to do m8  Afro

I`ve put neons in the footwells, just used the cig lighter, spliced into that, and put a switch on Smiley

Please tell me I'm too old for footwell lights

Thinking of dropping a couple of the citroen boot lights, under the dashboard, connecting up by use of an AND Gate, to the interior lights, and sidelights.

So when it's getting dark, and the sidelights are on - everytime the door is opened, the footwells light up.

With those off road (blue) 501 sidelight bulbs could look good.

Picked up a couple of IC AND gates from work - the advantage of working in electronics.

Time to get busy with the soldering iron.

Got the AND gate from work, a quick google hunt find the correct wiring diagram. Already run the power cables, now to get off CXOC and get busy with the soldering Iron.

Nobody has blue 501's in stock - had to order them.

I hope you're using some sort of amplifier stage after those AND gates. Those are 3.3 or 5v gates which source up to a few miliamps of current. You'll need some transistors or relays to properly turn on/off the lights, or they'll just fry. And to power the gates you'll also need a regulated 5V supply, don't forget, you're working with digital circuits.

Depends on the logic family whether it needs 5v. Two small 12v relays would be a simpler solution though, wire the neon power in series through the switches on both, then drive one from the sidelights, one from the Interior lights. Or just drive one relay from the interior lights, no-one will notice they're on during daylight anyway.

True, true...
Let's not over-digitize the xsara any more. Cheesy I'm starting to miss relays and analogue circuitry in the xsara. Everything is multiplexed and digital. uglystupid2 uglystupid2 idiot2
