ok ive done what we suggested as above, the memory is FIXED  Afro however the power is not  Huh? lol , when i switch the car ignition the HU wont come on, i have to do it myself, when i switch the car off the HU stays on constantly unless i switch it off,

its getting better  Grin , what should i do now? im quite enjoying tinkering about with my car  Afro

ive just noticed that on the HU the on/off switch has a LED ring light around it, when its on its blue, when its off it goes red, problem is when car is off and keys out the red ring light is still on, wont this drain the battery?, this bit is worrying me  Undecided

Red M = one of the memory wires?

when i went out to the car tonight to fix the memory, once the HU was out i seen i had only done the fag lighter tap, that was all and it sorted the memory, i hadnt swaped any wire,
then once i swaped the fuse so HU switched on and off with car i lost the memory, i hadnt swapped any wires although i thought i had, so i made the swap, the result was -No power source.

so ive swapped the wires back to normal red/red & yellow/yellow , it works on the turn of the key on/off but with no memory, if i was now to move the fuse back to its stagered position i would get memory back but have to switch cd player on off by my self,

so.... which wires should i try to swap now?lol , sorry Mike you are being a great help ( as you all are )  and you have helped get me this far, this thing is tiring me out today lol

Do you have or can you get acsess to either a multimeter or a 12v test lamp ? This would make things much easier. A small 12v test lamp something like >THIS Should do fine
